Chidinma Irene Nwoye is a writer, producer, director and journalist with over a decade of experience in multimedia nonfiction storytelling.
Nwoye directed and produced the documentary short, "Stateless," for Newsy Documentaries/Scripps News on African migrants stranded in Tapachula, Mexico; it was nominated for best documentary short at the Silicon Valley African Film Festival in 2020.
Nwoye also worked as an associate producer on the CNN documentary series, "The Murdochs: Empire of Influence" (Left Right, 2022); and the Netflix series, "Harry & Meghan" (Story Syndicate, 2022).
Raised in Kano city, Nwoye began her non-fiction career as a journalist in Nigeria before migrating to New York, where she wrote for publications such as The Village Voice, Al Jazeera English, The Intercept and Quartz Africa.
Nwoye is passionate about immersive character-driven documentaries that focus on migration, history, and the African continent or its diaspora.
She is currently based in Toronto and works as a producer for McGee Media.
